The Brand is Auria and the swimwear pictured have just been included in the Estethica Showcase during London Fashion week for S/S13. I read all about Auria and the other brands involved in Viva today. You can read the article here.
The event, now in its fifth year is dedicated to showcasing designers who combine both excellent designs and ethical values to produce luxury sustainable fashion. Each Estethica designer includes at least one of the Estethica principles being; fair-trade practices, organic fibres and/or recycled materials.
The swimwear created by Auria is produced from stretch polyamide that is made using discarded materials including carpet and fishing net. Combine the excellent use of upcycling with the labels late 80's/ 90's, super model/ LA beach babe inspiration and the range is a fashion lover gone greens dream come true!
I do hope Auria gets stocked in New Zealand or at least ship to our distant shores when the range becomes available.

Ethletic Kicks

I have found them! Sneakers that pay homeage to the classicly cool Converse Chucks, sans the sweatshop and environmentally harmful manufacturing process. Horay!!!
They are from label Ethletic and are made with Organic Cotton Canvas, Fairly Traded Rubber (that is also FSC Certified) and have no plastic included at all. Even the Laces are made from Organic Cotton.
Like the name suggests they are also ethically made. Producers are paid premium fairtrade prices for their labour and also have health and welfare benifits provided.
I can not wait to order and receive mine . . . the only problem is that for once in the relm of sustainable shopping, a range of choice is available, (not really a problem is it).

Meat Free Monday - 03.09.2012

I can't wait for Spring to bring in some new and exciting veggies to add to my diet! I am over eating potato, leek, broccoli and cauliflower. I don't like mushrooms at all and I will only eat spinach if I have to. So needless to say at this stage of Winter I am getting a bit bored!

I trawled several of my favourite foodie sites and blogs for inspiration for tonight's tea and found my mouth watering for all things basil, tomato, zucchini and corn! In the end we ended up making pizzas (uninspired and not at all photo worthy!)

I am really looking forward to trying out these Zucchini, Mint and Feta Fritters in the next few months. They're from the lovely vegetarian blog My Darling Lemon Thyme. The site is full of delish sweet and savoury dishes and also includes plenty of gluten and dairy free options.
